Room 5 – Alison Cooney

In Room 5 the children are taught the skills needed to independently conquer reading and writing, and many other tasks that they will encounter throughout their future learning.
With various methods such as The Wilson Reading Programme, creative writing and grammar, research project work, IT skills, among others, the children learn in a multi-sensory manner.
The main focus is for the children to learn in a positive and encouraging environment where they are motivated to reach their individual potentials.

Mrs. Porter is the SNA in room 5 this year. Rhona has been part of our school team for 18 years. She contributes both as an SNA and as an art teacher in after school activities. Rhona values her role and is enthusiastic in supporting the pupils in her care. She likes to help the pupils feel cared for, and feel that they really belong.
